July 2009 My first day in USA!
When I came to America, I knew nothing about English language. I remember when I just got off of the plane and i went to the bag station to pick up my bag, In the mid time between the getting off of the plane and going to the ''pick up your beautiful bag area'' I heard ''English'' language, but for me at that time (July 2009) was like listening mix of Chinese - Japanese language because I did not understand a single syllable or word of what those people were saying. But i handle it very well just saying, ''Alright''or ''Okay''. Then after all my majestic work dodging and pretending to understand English. My father who pick me up from the airport, he drove me to downtown-Omaha to Subway store because I was starving to death! In the plane the waitress just gave me a piece of meat, plus water and a ''Thank you for flying with us'' for four hours straight. After I was done with my club sandwich from subway store, we were just driving around downtown-Omaha. He was giving me a tour of Downtown-Omaha, but I was really tired, I did not sleep for over 24 hours, ( from Peru-Lima to Panama, Houston to Omaha), I felt very weary. I felt strange not just because it was a different country, different people or life style, the weather was killing me in that moment it was like 95 degrees out there and i was wearing jeans, shirt, 2 sweaters, and a jacket, I was very cold. I believe is the transaction and adaption to a new place. Right after i feel awkward with the weather, we went to his house, to meet his wife and also my step sister, Sarah. And once again I did not know any of the words that were coming out of her mouth, I was more lost than Sussy Diaz in the Culture house. Later, we went outside so my dad could mow the lawn, while my dad was mowing the lawn i was drinking tea, because i was cold but getting a little warm. After he was done he show me the house, and i like more the basement than my actually bedroom, probably because its more big so for the next two year I lived in the basement. It has a complete bathroom, with the laundry machine in it so of course i did not have any privacy. I really did not care in that moment, it was very spacious for me so i take the basement as my Batcueva. And that was pretty much my first day and that was gonna be for the next month because i asked my dad when school start, and he told me we are going to the school some time next week so you can meet the people who worked there at ''Bellevue West''
